Happy Present Meet
Ducros Encore for Cello and Piano
Duration: 7 mn env
Its title attests to its vocation: Encore is the term most commonly used in the world to designate what the French call the bis. And it is because we were seeking, with Jerome Pernoo, to broaden our repertoire of encores that I presented him with this piece one day, composed resolutely in this perspective. Respecting the specifications for virtuoso pieces, I strove to show to advantage, without consideration for the cellist, two of the most key facets of his instrument: agility and the ability to sing.
A piece of extreme virtuosity for cello and piano, originally intended to be played as an encore, hence its title.
Fingerings : Jerome Pernoo.
Premiered on June 5. 2000, at East-London (South Africa), by Jerome Pernoo (cello) and Jerome Ducros (piano).
