There are very few pieces in the Nikolai Kapustin oeuvre like this Sonatina intentionally written as aneasy piece.

Kapustin was approached by a music school for children and asked to write something “not too difficult”, and although he at first declined he changed his mind and turned towards writing something “easy”; his Sonatina for piano, Op. 100 was composed in 2000. The piece is written in the style of a simple classical sonatina, which makes it easily approachable, and sounds as if it were something from Haydn’s or Mozart’s chamber music performed with a jazz combo.

Kapustin은 어린이를 위한 음악 학교에서 접근하여 "너무 어렵지 않은" 곡을 써달라고 요청했고, 처음에는 거절했지만 마음을 바꿔 "쉬운" 곡을 쓰는 쪽으로 방향을 바꾸었습니다. 그의 피아노를 위한 소나티나 Op. 100은 2000년에 작곡된 작품이다. 심플한 클래식 소나티나 형식으로 작곡되어 접근성이 좋고, 마치 하이든이나 모차르트의 실내악에 재즈 콤보가 가미된 듯한 느낌을 준다.
