Schumann was a poet at the piano, and the best known of his piano pieces bear programmatic titles such as “Träumerei” (“Reverie”), “Von fremden Ländern und Menschen” (“Of foreign lands and people”) or “Vogel als Prophet” (“The bird as prophet”).
