Surprisingly, only one chamber work by Mahler survives today (a piano quartet), along with a multitude of well-loved vocal works and symphonies. In an effort to bring Mahler's gorgeous music into the flute repertoire, Kornfeil has chosen five of Mahler's songs best suited for the instrument. Knowing that these settings without text present new challenges for performers, the melodies of Mahler translate no matter the instrumentation.


놀랍게도 오늘날 말러의 실내악 작품은 단 하나(피아노 4중주)뿐이며, 많은 사랑을 받는 성악 작품과 교향곡도 남아 있습니다. 말러의 화려한 음악을 플루트 레퍼토리에 추가하려는 노력의 일환으로 Kornfeil은 악기에 가장 적합한 말러의 노래 5곡을 선택했습니다. 텍스트가 없는 이러한 설정은 연주자에게 새로운 과제를 안겨준다는 사실을 알고 있기 때문에 말러의 멜로디는 악기에 관계없이 번역됩니다.
