Violinist and composer, Pablo de Sarrasate began his career with fantasies on opera tunes. Thanks to his inspired creations, Spanish music gained esteem in the eyes of the great composers of the time - Bizet, Saint-Saëns, Lalo - who dedicated some masterpieces to him. His “Fantasy on Carmen” uses themes from George Bizet's popular opera, soon transformed into variations of dazzling virtuosity. In this adaptation, the concert aspect of the score is faithfully respected.
