2016 marks the first centenary of the death of Max Reger. In addition to his best-known field of creativity – organ music – his choral compositions form another major part of his oeuvre.


This edition contains a selection of his sacred a cappella choral works. Their scoring, level of difficulty and length make them ideal for choirs who are wary of tackling the large-scale Op.110 motets. For the first time, the selection of works includes the previously unpublished Acht Grabgesänge (1900). The pieces are arranged in chronological order, culminating in the well-known cycle of Acht geistliche Gesänge op. 138 (1914).



The Editor

Michael Chizzali has been a scholarly assistant at the Institute of Musicology in Weimar-Jena (Germany) since 2014. His dissertation on Reger’s contemporary, the Tyrolean composer Josef Gasser (1873-1957), was published in Innsbruck in 2014.


2016년은 막스 레거 서거 100주년이 되는 해입니다. 그의 가장 잘 알려진 창작 분야인 오르간 음악 외에도, 합창곡은 그의 작품 세계 중 또 다른 중요한 부분을 차지합니다.


이번 판에는 그의 성스러운 무반주 합창곡들이 수록되어 있습니다. 악보, 난이도, 그리고 길이의 구성은 대규모 모테트 Op. 110을 다루기에 부담스러운 합창단에게 이상적입니다. 또한, 이전에 발표되지 않았던 〈Acht Grabgesänge〉(1900)도 처음으로 선곡에 포함되었습니다. 이 곡들은 연대순으로 배열되어 있으며, 잘 알려진 〈Acht geistliche Gesänge〉 연작 Op. 138(1914)으로 마무리됩니다.

미하엘 치찰리는 2014년부터 독일 바이마르-예나 음악학 연구소에서 학술 조교로 재직해 왔습니다. 레거와 동시대 작곡가였던 티롤 출신 작곡가 요제프 가서(1873-1957)에 대한 그의 논문은 2014년 인스브루크에서 출판되었습니다.
