Inspired by the excellent advice of their illustrious predecessors, they have wished to include in this method only really useful exercises, in order to give to the pupils a sufficiently good knowledge of the mechanism of the cello, to enable them to undertake without any difficulty the study of Duport`s, Dotzauer`s, and Romberg`s works.
