캐나다를 대표하는 두 성악가, 마리-니콜 르뮤와 카리나 코뱅이 헨델이 작곡한 아름다운 아리아들을 녹음한 이 음반은 팬들이 오랫동안 기다려온 기획일 뿐만 아니라 헨델의 성악작품에 있어 최고의 권위를 자랑하는 앨런 커티스와 콤플레소 바로코와의 공동작업으로 이루어져 그 가치를 더하고 있다. 성경에 기초한 헨델의 9개의 오라토리오 중에서 15개의 솔로와 듀엣 아리아를 선별했으며 그 내용 역시 어디 한곳에 치우치지 않고, 부서질듯한 여린 감성을 간직한 작품에서부터 격한 분노의 발산을 보여주는 작품들까지 다채롭게 수록하고 있다. 헨델의 성악 작품팬이라면 놓쳐서는 안될 보물.
