역사적인 명연이 후일 느닷없이 재발매되었을 때의 흥분감은 실로 짜릿하기 이를 데 없는데 바로 이 음반이 그러하다. 1981년 최만년의 오먼디와 혜성처럼 등장한 카차리스가 리스트 음악의 정수를 보여주는 이 녹음은 EMI 발매였다가 근 25년만에 PIANO21을 통해 부활했기 때문이다. 오먼디의 필라델피아 사운드의 농염한 울림과 긴장감 높은 템포를 바탕으로 카차리스는 헝가리의 투박하면서도 세련된 리듬과 고도의 테크닉을 완벽하게 구현한다.
