Happy Present Meet
Chopin ans Baroness Nathaniel de Rothschild
The study entitled 'Chopin and Baroness Nathaniel de Rothschild. The Nocturne in C minor and the Waltz in A minor without opus number. Problems of Attribution' is of great source value. It presents Chopin’s friendly relations with the Rothschild family, in the context of which the author attempts to clarify the authenticity of the Nocturne in C minor and the Waltz in A minor (posthumous opuses), as well as confirming the existence of a heretofore unpublished manuscript of Mazurka op. 67 no. 4. This is yet another important contribution by Jean-Jacques Eigeldinger, one of the most distinguished Chopinologists of our time, to research on Chopin’s biography and œuvre.
