No other great composer left so many works for piano duet as Franz Schubert: altogether 54 (32 of which have an opus number) including fantasias, dances, marches, variations, rondos, sonatas, etc. Among Schubert’s circle of friends, making music was a much beloved pastime. And even today musicians love to work with these pieces.

In the three Henle Urtext volumes featuring Schubert’s four-hand piano music, the works are arranged chronologically.


Volume II contains a total of altogether 26 pieces, 19 of which are comprised of four opera with three, four and six individual pieces: Trois marches militaires, four Ländler as well as Grandes Marches et Trios and Polonaises respectively. They date from the years 1818 to 1826. The unchallenged favorite in this book is the C major Sonata D 812 of the year 1824, also called Grand Duo. However, without wanting to diminish the status of the other pieces, we should point out that all seven marches are splendid compositions.


프란츠 슈베르트만큼 많은 피아노 이중창 작품을 남긴 위대한 작곡가는 없습니다. 환상곡, 무곡, 행진곡, 변주곡, 론도, 소나타 등을 포함하여 총 54곡(그중 32곡은 작품번호 포함)에 달합니다. 슈베르트의 친구들 사이에서 음악을 만드는 것은 매우 사랑받는 취미였습니다. 그리고 오늘날에도 음악가들은 이러한 작품들을 즐겨 연주합니다.

슈베르트의 네 손 피아노 음악을 담은 헨레 원전 3권에는 작품이 연대순으로 정리되어 있습니다.


2권에는 총 26곡이 수록되어 있으며, 그중 19곡은 4개의 오페라로 구성되어 있으며, 각각 3곡, 4곡, 6곡의 개별 작품이 있습니다. 3개의 군사 행진곡, 4개의 렌들러, 그리고 대행진곡과 3중주곡, 그리고 폴로네즈가 있습니다. 이 작품들은 1818년부터 1826년까지 작곡되었습니다. 이 책에서 가장 인기 있는 작품은 1824년에 작곡된 C장조 소나타 D 812번으로, 대이중주라고도 불립니다. 하지만 다른 작품의 위상을 깎아내리려는 것은 아니지만, 7개의 행진곡은 모두 훌륭한 작품이라는 점을 지적하고 싶습니다.
