The authorship of the two motets “Ich lasse dich nicht, du segnest mich denn” and “Jauchzet dem Herrn, alle Welt” has eluded scholars to the present day, and their authenticity as genuine works by Bach is at least open to question. Nevertheless, both motets enjoy great popularity. This edition offers church choirs a welcome and immanently practical diversion from the standard repertoire.
